 Johns father was a drummer who taught him as a youth, before sending him to Humber College to study with notable great Roger Flock. Being influenced by the big band drummers of the swing era and B-Bop jazz drummers, John has played with most of Torontos prominent big band jazz ensembles. With over 30 musical theatre shows to date, John has also toured across Canada with Actress/Singer Cassie Steel from tv show Degrassi: The Next Generation, played in show bands on cruise ships,  cabaret shows at casinos in the Yukon and toured internationally at hotels in Asia. 

Variety is The Spice of Life!!!

Being a working musician, John Collin is called by other musicians to  play in a variety of musical styles and  situations, ranging from jazz to rock, latin, funk, music theatre , big band swing,  classical orchestra, brass band and anything in between. 

The John Collin Jazz Band is available in a trio format to a large ensemble and is suitable  for events of all occasions.
